LINAMON, Lanao del Norte -- Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Region 10 (PDEA-10) filed illegal drug charges on Monday against five suspects here after being arrested in a buy-bust operation with PHP136,000 worth of suspected shabu.

PDEA-10 Spokesperson Neil Pabilona identified the suspects as Muhammad Ashraff Yanu alias Amad, Grizele Dame Cloma, Abdul Rajiv Yanu Jabber, Jovane Sasel Sanggacala and Kirby Geme Abarquez.

The suspects, who have been under monitoring for two months, were slapped with criminal cases for violating Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002 after being arrested on Saturday, May 16.

"In an actual buy bust operation, the PDEA agent was able to buy P1,000 worth of suspected shabu. Upon the arrest of Yanu, four other sachets of shabu of different sizes were taken from the suspect's possession," Pabilona told the Philippines News Agency.

Linamon town Mayor Randy Macapil also warned on Sunday that the local government already has a list of local drug personalities.

"If they still continue to operate, the law enforcement agencies will not hesitate to enforce the law," Macapil said.

PDEA-10 Director Wilkins Villanueva lauded the "relentless efforts" of the joint law enforcement to eradicate the illegal drug trade in the province. (PNA)
