'Drug den' dismantled, 5 suspects nabbed in Dumaguete

DUMAGUETE CITY – Police operatives have arrested five alleged drug suspects and dismantled a purported drug den during an anti-illegal drug operation in Barangay Calindagan here on Monday.

A report from the Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office (NOPPO) said a joint team of operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Negros Oriental, Dumaguete City Police Station, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, and 702nd Maritime Police Station conducted a buy-bust operation in Purok Mutya in Sitio Canday-ong, which led to the arrest of the “high-value targets” and the dismantling of the drug den.

The suspects were identified as Abdula Perater Goro, the alleged drug den maintainer, and his "visitors" Roben Apo Abing, Marlon Macaorug Miparanum, Albeth Amuto Qio, and Ronelo Sasco Perater.

Seized during the operation were some 15 grams of suspected shabu with a Dangerous Drugs Board value of PHP102,000.

The suspects are now detained at the city police station here for the filing of charges in violation of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
