COTABATO CITY – Police seized PHP13.6-million worth of suspected shabu following a shootout that killed a "recidivist" illegal drug offender here Monday.

Col. Richard Fiesta, city police director, identified the slain suspect as Tahami Kamsa, 39, of Barangay Poblacion here.

A poseur-buyer managed to secure the illegal drug from the suspect who quickly fled after sensing he was dealing with a law enforcer, Fiesta said.

“Kamsa traded bullets with the police agents that resulted in his death,” he said, referring to the 3 p.m. buy-bust operation in the barangay.

Fiesta said Kamsa yielded 2 kg. of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP13.6 million, a motorbike, a .45-caliber pistol, and mobile phones.

He noted that Kamsa was a drug surrenderer who yielded to authorities during the “Oplan Tokhang” a few years back. (PNA)
