Recidivist, 5 others nabbed in Zambo anti-drug ops

ZAMBOANGA CITY--Authorities have arrested a man previously arrested for unspecified drug charges and five others in separate anti-drug operations in this southern port city, a police official said Tuesday.

Capt. Edwin Duco, Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) information officer, identified the "recidivist" as 23-year-old Joemari Tubog, who was arrested in a buy-bust operation on Monday evening in Barangay Mercedes here.

Tubog yielded some 10 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of PHP68,000 and other pieces of evidence.

Duco identified the other arrested suspects Joseph Arquiza Jr., 37; Robert Lang, 44; Abras Ami, 58; Noel Lagasca, 52; and Yahcob Abdulkadil, 54.

Duco said that Arquiza and Lang yielded some PHP10,000 worth of suspected shabu when arrested in a buy-bust operation Monday evening in Justina Village, Barangay Putik.

Ami, meanwhile, was caught in possession of some PHP3,000 worth of suspected shabu and PHP500 marked money in a buy-bust operation Monday evening in Barangay Sinunuc.

Lagasca, on the other hand, yielded some PHP27,700 worth of suspected shabu when arrested in a buy-bust operation Monday evening in Barangay Tetuan.

Police said Abdulkadil, a newly-identified drug pusher, yielded some PHP3,700 worth of suspected shabu in a law enforcement operation Monday evening in Murga Drive, Barangay Sta. Catalina.

Duco said the suspects were detained to face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
