Drug peddler nabbed, P1.4-M worth of shabu seized

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga - Authorities have arrested a notorious drug peddler and seized some PHP1.4 million worth of illegal drugs in Olongapo City on Thursday.

Based on the report of the Police Regional Office 3 on Friday, operatives of Police Station 3-Drug Enforcement Unit of Olongapo City Police Office arrested Oliver De Jesus in a buy-bust operation in front of Royal Choice Duty-Free located at Manila Avenue, Subic Bay Freeport Zone, Olongapo City.

De Jesus, a resident of Barangay San Ramon, Dinalupihan, Bataan, is included in the drug watchlist of Olongapo City Police.

Seized from his possession were a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 25 grams and 12 different sizes of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets also containing suspected shabu with an approximate combined weight of 186 grams with Dangerous Drug Board value amounting to PHP1.434 million placed inside a cellphone box.

Charges for violation of Section 5 with Section 26B and Section 11 Art. II of RA 9165 were being prepared for filing against the suspect at the City Prosecutor’s Office, Olongapo City.

"The continuous crackdown on all forms of lawlessness, especially on illegal drugs, is being conducted amid this pandemic and we will keep on delivering our relentless outstanding service to the communities of Region 3," said Brig. Gen. Rhodel Sermonia, PRO-3 director, in a statement. (PNA)
