1 killed, 12 nabbed in Bulacan anti-drug ops

CAMP ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan – A drug suspect was killed and 12 others were arrested in separate buy-bust operations conducted in this province on Tuesday.

Col. Lawrence Cajipe, director of the Bulacan Police Provincial Office, identified the neutralized suspect as Tirso Vasallo Hernandez.

He said the suspect was killed when he tried to fight it out with lawmen during a buy-bust operation conducted in Barangay Pantubig, San Rafael, this province at around 10:45 p.m.

Recovered from the scene were a Smith and Wesson .38-caliber revolver with serial number 88231 and loaded with two fired cartridge cases and two live ammunition, two fired cartridge cases of caliber 9mm, and 11 plastic sachets of suspected shabu.

Meanwhile, Cajipe said 12 drug suspects were nabbed during separate buy-bust operations conducted by the Station Drug Enforcement Unit of (SDEU) of the police stations of Bocaue, San Jose Del Monte, Pandi and a joint team of Malolos police and Bulacan Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB).

He said that a total of 30 plastic sachets of shabu and buy-bust money were recovered from the suspects during the operations.

“Appropriate criminal complaints against the arrested suspects are now being prepared for filing in court,” he added. (PNA)
