BUTUAN CITY – An online store, dubbed as “Taboan sa Agusan”, opened Wednesday to help local processors and the business sector in Agusan del Norte sell their products amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic.

In a statement, the provincial government of Agusan del Norte said a total of 60 processed products from 23 local processors from the province were featured during the opening of the online market.

The online store will run until Friday (Aug. 28).

According to the provincial government, the initiative aims to support local entrepreneurs under its "Agusan Up program," in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

“Through the online store, we will be able to directly market the local products of our MSMEs or the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the province,” said Angelito Cagulada, market development support officer of the Agusan Up initiative.

Cagulada said the online market is expected to reach buyers from the various towns of Agusan del Norte, including the cities of Cabadbaran and Butuan.

“Our clients can directly make orders online. Before the shipment, all the products ordered will pass through the Agus Product Center at the Agusan Up Coordinating Center for sorting and preparations for deliveries,” Cagulada said.

Among the products sold in the online market are processed foods and drinks from mango and other local agricultural products. (PNA)
