PCOO chief hopes for Cardinal Tagle's recovery from Covid-19

MANILA – Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar on Saturday hoped for the speedy recovery of Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle who contracted the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19). 

"We extend our prayers of speedy recovery and good health to Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle following the unfortunate news that he had recently contracted Covid-19, and entreat the public to pray for the good Cardinal as well," Andanar said in a press statement.

"May his recovery be immediate so that he can continue to fulfill his good works and be an inspiration to the Catholic faithful to continue the fight against the Covid-19 virus and be on our way to heal and recover as one nation," he added.

Cardinal Tagle, Archbishop Emeritus of Manila, tested positive for the virus upon his arrival in the country on Thursday.

The Holy See Press Office, in a report published by the Vatican News, confirmed the announcement on Friday evening. 

The prelate is reportedly asymptomatic and is currently under quarantine. (PNA)
