MANILA – The southwest monsoon affecting Luzon and the Visayas will bring scattered rains over parts of these islands, a weather specialist said on Friday.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecast Mimaropa, the Bicol Region, Western Visayas, and the provinces of Batangas and Quezon to experience scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

PAGASA weather specialist Raymond Ordinario said Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, rest of the Visayas, and Mindanao will have fair weather, with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Metro Manila will experience warm temperature in the afternoon, Ordinario added.

Meanwhile, moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will prevail over Luzon and the western section of the Visayas and Mindanao.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate coastal waters, PAGASA said. (PNA)
