MANILA – The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) is seeking to have its special care facilities certified by the Department of Health (DOH) to help prevent and contain the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) particularly among its personnel.

NCRPO Chief, Maj. Gen. Debold Sinas on Wednesday said he personally requested for DOH inspectors to visit the facilities to ensure that guidelines on Local Isolation and General Treatment Areas for Covid-19 cases (LIGTASCOVID) and the Community-based Management of Mild Covid-19 Cases standards are met.

"We are positive in our goal to be a DOH certified Special Care Facility. To ensure that we meet the stringent requirements for such certification equates in making sure that we are giving our affected personnel our best effort in terms of their health and safety,” Sinas said.

Assisted by the officers from the NCRPO Regional Health Service, the DOH team composed of Andrea Quijencio, Kevin Rosales, Ramon Ivan, Gregory de Jesus and David Xavier Dado inspected the NCRPO special care facilities on Oct. 1, 2020.

“We pledge our commitment to institute whatever improvement is needed for our facilities to be certified by the Department of Health,” Sinas said.

The NCRPO Special Care Facilities, he said, play an indispensable role in the prevention, mitigation, and containment of Covid-19 outbreak among Metro Manila cops.

The inspection is geared to ensure that the standard requirement for an isolation facility such as the physical structure, setup, utilities, manpower, logistics, equipment, processes and other necessary requisites are met prior to the issuance of a certification by the DOH.

Sinas said he wants to make sure that maintenance and management of the special care facilities, which serve police personnel with Covid-19, are coordinated and anchored with the plans and recommendations of the DOH and other competent government agencies.

He said the coherence of actions, accuracy, and efficiency in the delivery of health-related services among NCRPO personnel aims to avoid undue anxiety and panic among its front-liners.

"Human resource is our most valuable resource. Hence, I would like to ensure that my men are well taken cared of and that their morale is always high. With this, I am confident that we will be competent in the delivery of public service to the people of Metro Manila,” he said.

"We are positive in our goal to be a DOH certified Special Care Facility. To ensure that we meet the stringent requirements for such certification equates in making sure that we are giving our affected personnel our best effort in terms of their health and safety. Hence, we pledge our commitment to institute whatever improvement is needed for our facilities to be certified by the Department of Health,” he added. (PNA)
