COTABATO CITY – North Cotabato has opened another major isolation facility for coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) patients, Governor Nancy Catamco announced on Sunday.

Catamco personally inspected on Saturday the health facility situated at the compound of the M’lang District Hospital located at Barangay Poblacion of M’lang town.

The new 80-bed capacity isolation center has a molecular laboratory equipped with PHP15 million worth of reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) machines that have a capacity to test 1,000 persons daily.

It also has a mobile X-ray machine, ventilators, and delivery room, making the facility convenient for both health workers and admitted patients.

All policies and procedures from the time the patient is admitted up to the time that the patient leaves are in place.

“Since it already had the certification to operate from the Department of Health, all systems go from here on,” Catamco said, as she lauded the health professionals for working on the establishment of the facility.

Aside from M’lang, the province has isolation facilities in President Roxas, Midsayap, and Kidapawan City.

To date, North Cotabato has 50 Covid-19 active cases, with 157 fully recovering from a cumulative total of 207 cases and two deaths. (PNA)
