ILIGAN CITY – Five suspected drug peddlers are now detained at the regional office of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Cagayan de Oro City after they were arrested in a buy-bust operation.

Emerson Rosales, the agency's regional director here, on Saturday said they seized from the suspects around a kilo of suspected shabu with an estimated market value of PHP6.8 million.

PDEA Region 10, which led the operation on Friday, identified the suspects as Linlin Ampaso, 41, reportedly a resident of Barangay Poblacion, in Kapatagan town; Johary Macarao, 24, a resident of Marawi City; Amrodin Adel, 23, a resident of Sapad, Lanao del Norte; and Proxy Rauring, 41 and Abdul Sawaf Rauring, both residents of Basak, Lapu-lapu City.

Rosales said the subjects, who are considered high-value targets, have been under surveillance for several months.

Maj. Rodolfo Dongiapon, chief of Kapatagan Municipal Police Station, said on Saturday that they are verifying the residency of Ampaso, who is the main target of the operations, because initial investigation revealed she is from Marawi City.

“We learned that the transaction was supposed to be done in Iligan City but they eventually arrived in Kapatagan,” Dongiapon said. (PNA)
