COTABATO CITY – Police are hunting down two men who tried to kill a male nurse along a busy street here on Tuesday afternoon.

Capt. Rustom Pastolero, city police station 2 chief, said Gino Guerrero, a front-liner of Cotabato Regional and Medical Center (CRMC), has survived the gun attack at about 3 p.m. near a gas station on San Isidro Street, Barangay Rosary Heights 10, Cotabato City.

Pastolero said Guerrero, 30, of Peñafrancia Village, was driving his sedan car when one of two men riding on a motorbike opened fire on him.

“He miraculously escaped unharmed but his car has at least seven bullet holes,” Pastolero said, adding that police found empty shells for a .45-caliber pistol at the crime scene.

Pastolero said the investigation is ongoing as to the motive and identities of the perpetrators.

“We are also determining if it was work-related or not,” he said. (PNA)
