Soccsksargen posts 45 new Covid-19 recoveries

COTABATO CITY – Forty-five patients have recovered from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in Region 12 as of Sunday night, the Department of Health in the region (Soccsksargen) (DOH-12) said in a report.

Of the 45 new recoveries, 28 came from Sarangani, followed by 14 from Cotabato City, two from General Santos City, and one from South Cotabato.

“Every recovery is a welcome development for our health workers who are working tirelessly to beat Covid-19 in the region,” Arjohn Gangoso, DOH–12 health education and promotion officer, said in an interview with reporters here Monday.

This came about as the region also logged 22 new Covid-19 confirmed cases with Cotabato City having nine, General Santos City with seven, and Sarangani with six.

"The fight is not yet over so we continue to urge the public to stay at home,” Gangoso said.

The cumulative confirmed cases since March this year is at 2,811 with 2,023 recoveries for a 72 percent recovery rate.

Presently there are 700 active cases with General Santos having 261; Cotabato City, 194; South Cotabato, 120; North Cotabato and Sarangani with 52 each; and Sultan Kudarat, 21.

The death toll remains at 87. (PNA)
