BUTUAN CITY – The Police Regional Office in Caraga Region (PRO-13) received new mobility and communication assets on Monday, the region's top police official said.

Brig. Gen. Romeo M. Caramat, Jr. said the new vehicles and radios would boost the anti-criminality drive and anti-insurgency campaign of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in the region.

The new assets, composed of nine units of Toyota Patrol Jeep 4x2 single cab and 24 sets of Codan HF Manpack radios, came from the national headquarters of the PNP in Camp Crame.

“These additional logistical resources shall boost both the morale and the confidence of the troops in the front-line services in order for the Caraga police to serve and protect the people as we aim to attain a safer place to live, work and do business in the region,” Caramat said.

He said most of the new vehicles will be assigned to Surigao City Police Station, Alegria Municipal Police Station, General Luna Municipal Police Station, Dapa Municipal Police Station, Gigaquit Municipal Police Station, and Del Carmen Municipal Police Station, all in Surigao del Norte.

One service vehicle each will also be allocated to the San Jose Municipal Police Station in Dinagat Islands province, and the Esperanza Municipal Police Station and Bunawan Municipal Police Station in Agusan del Sur.

Meanwhile, the 24 sets of Codan HP Manpack radios will also be distributed to various mobile units in the region. (PNA)
