'Vicky' now outside PAR

MANILA – Tropical Depression (TD) Vicky accelerated and is now outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Sunday.

In its 5 p.m. weather bulletin, PAGASA reported that the center of “Vicky” was estimated based on all available data at 70 km southeast of Pag-asa Island, Palawan at 4 p.m. Sunday.

TD Vicky has sustained winds of 55 kilometer per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kph moving westward at 15 kph.

PAGASA in 24 hours Vicky will be at 320 km southwest of Kalayaan, Palawan and at 530 km west southwest of Kalayaan, Palawan in 48 hours.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1 remains hoisted over Kalayaan Islands.

The public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next Severe Weather Bulletin to be issued at 11 p.m. today," PAGASA said. (PNA)
