MANILA – The northeast monsoon will cause isolated rain showers over most parts of Luzon, the weather bureau said Thursday.

In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the tail-end of frontal system affecting the eastern section of southern Luzon and the Visayas will bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the Bicol Region, Mimaropa, Central and Western Visayas, Quezon, and Northern Samar.

Light rains will prevail over Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, and Aurora, while Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have isolated light rains.

Isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms will be experienced over Mindanao and the rest of the Visayas.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will prevail over northern Luzon and eastern section of central and southern Luzon.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA added. (PNA)
