DAGUPAN CITY – A 23-year-old employee of municipality of Sual has been arrested in an entrapment operation by the National Bureau of Investigation–Dagupan District Office (NBI-DADO) due to alleged sextortion.

In an interview on Wednesday, NBI-DADO chief Rizaldy Jaymalin identified the suspect as Jumah Alejandro, a resident of Sual town who allegedly blackmailed a 28-year-old female from Alaminos City.

“The suspect asked the victim to pay PHP30,000 and some sexual favors in exchange for deleting her naked photos. Apparently, the suspect created a fake Facebook account and posed as a foreigner. The victim has a sick mother during that time and she became desperate,” he said.

The suspect behind the fake account asked her to send her nude photos in exchange for some monetary assistance, to which she complied, he added.

However, Alejandro created another Facebook account and began threatening the victim that he would leak her private photos if she would not pay and engage in sexual intercourse with him.

“Before the holiday season, the victim went to our office and sought assistance. The entrapment operation was held on Jan. 11,” Jaymalin said.

Both victim and suspect met at a bank in Alaminos City. The victim then gave the suspect an envelope containing the boodle and marked money. The suspect then brought her to a nearby motel afterward.

However, before he could consummate his evil intentions, the NBI operatives barged inside the motel room and arrested the suspect.

The suspect is now facing charges of robbery and attempted rape, both in relation to Republic Act 10175, also known as Cybercrime Prevention Act; while a bail bond of PHP300,000 has been recommended for his temporary liberty. (PNA)
