MANILA – The low pressure area (LPA) spotted 100 kilometers east of Baler, Aurora will cause scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over most parts of Luzon and Eastern Visayas, the weather bureau said Wednesday afternoon.

This LPA is less likely to develop into a tropical depression in the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will be experienced over Metro Manila, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, the Cordillera Administrative Region, Mimaropa, the Bicol Region, Calabarzon, and Eastern Visayas.

The LPA and the tail-end of the frontal system will also bring scattered to widespread rain showers and thunderstorms over Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and northern Quezon.

The rest of the country will have isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will continue over Luzon.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (PNA
