PDEA, police dismantle drug den, nabbed 13 in Zamboanga

ZAMBOANGA CITY--Authorities arrested six high-value individuals (HVIs) and seven others, dismantling a drug den and seizing some PHP201,490 worth of shabu in separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga Sibugay and this city, officials said Saturday.

Emerson Margate, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Region 9 (PDEA-9) director, said the six HVIs were arrested in a buy-bust that resulted in the dismantling of a drug den Friday afternoon in Barangay Tenan, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Arrested were Bensar Ahiya Bual, Kemhar Asarain Ascalon, Geodion Achame Saregue, Jessielyn Sibud Saregue, Guillir Sibud Saregue, and Raymondo Maloloy-on Vallez.

Except for Guillir and Valles, the rest of the suspects are alleged drug den maintainers, Margate said.

He said the suspects yielded some 20 grams of suspected with an estimated worth of PHP136,000, drug paraphernalia, and other pieces of evidence.

Capt. Edwin Duco, Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) information officer, identified the other suspects were Doval Hanni Buenavista, 50; Altamal Lakibul Labbay, 37; Pio Felicino Pastorfide, 29; Ibasis Daga Sadalani, 43; Rosalie Asi Sadalani, 43; Robert Manuel Tanpua, 34; and, Nurjane Camaño Ventura, 24.

Duco said Buenavista and Labbay yielded some PHP30,000 worth of suspected shabu and other pieces of evidence in a buy-bust operation around Friday evening in Barangay Campo Islam here.

Pastorfide, meanwhile, yielded some PHP4,490 worth of suspected shabu and PHP500 marked money when arrested in a buy-bust around 8 p.m. Friday in Barangay Sta. Maria, police said.

The two Sadalanis were arrested with some PHP20,000 worth of suspected shabu and PHP500 marked money in a buy-bust around 10 p.m. Friday in Zone 5, Barangay Tulungatung.

Police seized from Tanpua some PHP3,000 worth of suspected shabu and other pieces of evidence in a buy-bust around 8:10 p.m. Friday in Barangay Lunzuran.

Ventura yielded some PHP8,000 worth of suspected shabu and PHP200 marked money when arrested in a buy-bust around 8 p.m. Friday in Zone 6, Barangay Ayala.

The suspects are now facing illegal drug charges. (PNA)
