MANILA – Kaya Iloilo will be entering a bubble type of sports event setup for its upcoming stint in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup.

The AFC announced on Monday that Kaya Iloilo, Malaysian club Terrenganu, Singaporean team Geylang, and a team from Myanmar will play their group stage matches for Group I inside a bubble in Singapore.

Shan United is initially the Burmese representative for Group I, but Ayeyawady United can take the place of Shan if the latter qualifies for the AFC Champions League.

Kaya Iloilo can also be taken out of the AFC Cup if they too qualify for the Champions League and join fellow Philippines Football League powerhouse United City there.

Meanwhile, the Singapore bubble will also host Group H, consisting of Malaysia's Kedah Darul Aman, Vietnam's Saigon, Singapore Lion City Sailors, and the winner of the stepladder qualifier between Cambodia's Visakha, East Timor's Lalenok United, and Indonesia's Persipura Jayapura.

Visakha and Lalenok will first face off on April 28 with the winner taking on Persipura Jayapura on May 19 for the last spot in Group H.

Geylang and Lion City are the de facto hosts of the Singapore bubble, scheduled from June 22-28, in the process. (PNA)
