266 new coronavirus recoveries, total now 535K: DOH

MANILA – The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday reported 266 new recoveries from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), bringing total recoveries in the country to 535,037 or 91.5 percent of all infections. 

In its daily Covid-19 bulletin, the DOH reported 2,452 new cases, with active cases now at 37,226 or 6.4 percent of all Covid-19 cases nationwide.

Of the active cases, 90.1 percent are experiencing mild symptoms, 4.9 percent are asymptomatic, 2.1 percent are in critical condition, 2.1 percent have severe symptoms, and 0.81 percent show moderate symptoms.

It reported 15 new deaths due to the disease, bringing the country's death toll to 12,404 or 2.12 percent of the country’s total infections.

Out of the 25,706 Covid-19 tests administered on Wednesday, the department said 2,513 or 9.8 percent returned positive for Covid-19.

Meanwhile, available for Covid-19 patients are 59 percent of 1,900 beds in intensive care units, 65 percent of 13,500 isolation beds, 77 percent of 6,000 ward beds, and 78 percent of 2,000 ventilators. (PNA)
