CAMP GEN ALEJO S. SANTOS, Bulacan – A drug suspect was killed while authorities arrested 18 others in separate operations in this province.
Col. Lawrence B. Cajipe, Bulacan provincial director, said suspect Raffy Concepcion died in a buy-bust operation conducted by members of the Marilao police's Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) at Punong Tulay in Barangay Tabing-Ilog shortly after midnight Friday.
After the transaction, the suspect sensed the presence of a police officer which led to a gunfight.
Investigators recovered from the crime scene two 9mm fired cartridge cases, a .38 caliber revolver with five cartridges, a blue wallet containing nine sachets of suspected shabu, and buy-bust money.
Likewise, 18 more drug suspects identified as Kim Solis of Bunsuran 2nd, Pandi; Eduardo Diaz Jr and Rose Geolizan both from Tigbe, Norzagaray town; Benjamin Bernabe of Matictic, Norzagaray; Frederick Barsaga of Poblacion, Plaridel; Rowena Isal; Marlon Magno both residents of Santol, Balagtas; Raffy Legaspi of Cacarong Bata, Pandi; Racky Sumino; Jeffrey Alquilos both from Sto. Cristo, San Jose del Monte City were arrested in a series of anti-illegal drug operations by local police.
Also arrested were Laurence Dela Cruz and Conrado Juat, both from Binuangan, Obando; Rommel Tolentino and Erwin Mariano both from Lumang Bayan, Plaridel; Wilfredo Madrid from Siling Bata, Pandi; John Patrick Sevilla and Ysmael Vargas, both from San Roque, Baliwag and Nilo Santos of Poblacion, Baliwag.
The suspects yielded a total of 73 sachets of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia, a digital weighing scale, and buy-bust money.
"Appropriate criminal complaints against all the arrested suspects are now being prepared for filing in court," Cajipe added. (PNA)
