MANILA – The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) is scheduled to hold a general registration and orientation activity beginning Wednesday, June 2, for traditional public utility jeepney (TPUJ) drivers who wish to join its service contracting program (SCP).
In a Facebook post, the LTFRB said activity will be held at the Quezon City Memorial Circle Basketball Covered Court from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Friday, June 4.
Drivers who wish to join the program, it said, must be driving a TPUJ unit plying routes that are already open and qualified for the SCP.

The LTFRB also said these drivers must bring a photocopy of their professional driver’s license with three specimen signatures, a certification from their operator that they are an authorized driver of the declared TPUJ unit, a photocopy of the operator’s valid ID with three specimen signatures, a photocopy of the OR/CR of the TPUJ unit, a printed copy of the screenshot of the driver’s GCash account, and a photocopy of their Certificate of Public Convenience.
“Paalala lamang, kung ang unit ay binenta, ang driver ay kailangan magpasa ng photocopy na notarized Deed of Sale (DOS) na nakasaad ang pangalan ng pangalawang may-ari ng unit (A reminder, if the unit has been sold, the driver must bring a photocopy of the notarized DOS wherein the name of the second owner is stated),” the LTFRB said.
It added that DOS dated beyond August 2016 will not be accepted.
The regulatory body also reminded interested drivers to bring a face mask and a face shield, or else they will be barred from entry.
Under the SCP, public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers and operators receive a cash incentive from the LTFRB in return for transportation services.
These cash incentives include a one-time incentive of PHP20,000, a weekly incentive of PHP7,000 for those who log in to the program five days a week, a PHP4,000 initial payout, and a weekly payout. (PNA)
