DAVAO CITY – The Task Force Davao (TFD), in coordination with local police, have seized over PHP112,000 worth of shabu from a couple at a checkpoint in Barangay Toril on Wednesday.

In a statement Thursday, the TFD said the joint police and military checkpoint operation also resulted in the recovery of an unlicensed firearm from suspects Arman Paraiso Dumaop, 35, and her live-in partner Gwendolyn Sinolindong, 33, both residents of Mabini St. Digos City, Davao del Sur.

The couple was onboard a white multicab and was supposed to enter this city from Digos City, when authorities intercepted them.

Recovered from the suspects were three heat-sealed transparent sachets of shabu weighing a total of eight grams, PHP200,000 cash, a .22-caliber rifle with one magazine and ammunition, and ammunition for .45-caliber pistol.

Col. Darren Comia, TFD commander, has lauded the AFP and PNP for the successful interception as well as the conduct of checkpoint operations.

“The AFP-PNP checkpoint operations consistently filter unwelcomed elements in Davao City,” Comia added. (PNA)
