MANILA – Typhoon Mindulle is no longer expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), and fair weather will continue to prevail across the country, a weather forecaster said on Thursday.

"(Mindulle) continues to move away, and will no longer enter PAR. It was last tracked 1,500 kilometers away from extreme northern Luzon," said Benison Estareja of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

He, however, said the trough or extension of "Mindulle" is affecting parts of Luzon and the Visayas. This may cause localized thunderstorms that would last for one to two hours.

Estareja said fair weather will prevail over most of Luzon, and it will be warm and humid at noon.

The temperature in Tuguegarao will be up to 35°C, while Metro Manila's temperature will be up to 32°C.

The Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with temperature of up to 33°C.

"Most areas will be sunny and warm. Thunderstorms are likely in the afternoon," he said.

PAGASA also forecast localized thunderstorms over the rest of the country.

Meanwhile, Estareja said no gale warning is currently in effect.

Moderate to rough seas and slight to moderate seas will prevail over extreme northern Luzon and the eastern section of northern Luzon.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas. (PNA)
