DAVAO CITY – The UniTeam grand rallies in three provinces in Davao Region on Wednesday gathered huge crowds and were attended by big political bigwigs, the Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) said.

In a statement on Thursday, the HNP said UniTeam frontrunners presidential candidate Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and vice presidential bet Mayor Sara Duterte were welcomed by thousands of supporters in Carmen, Davao del Norte along with prominent clans of the Del Rosarios, Floirendos, Dujalis, Uys and the Aalas.

Former Governor Anthony del Rosario said the BBM-Sara administration could pave the way in continuing the no-nonsense leadership of President Rodrigo Duterte.

"I agree with the UniTeam's policy directions like job generation for Filipinos who were left jobless due to massive economic effects of Covid-19," he added.

During the grand rally, Marcos and Duterte reiterated the call for unity and peace.

"Thank you for the warm welcome. We, the Uniteam, long for unity. Our senators came from different political parties but we unite for the betterment of the country," Marcos said.

In the afternoon, the UniTeam held a grand rally in Davao de Oro wherein thousands of supporters also flocked to the venue.

Governor Jayvee Tyron Uy said their local team “Walang Iwanan” fully believes in the UniTeam frontrunners as they pushed to unite the Filipinos.

Uy said residents of the province have waited for the day when they get to see the whole UniTeam, especially Duterte, their fellow Dabawenyo.

Before thousands of people in Davao de Oro, Duterte said their team aims to generate more jobs, strengthen education, and strive to attain peaceful living.

In the evening, HNP said Marcos and Duterte tandem gathered around 120,000 supporters in Davao del Sur.

Duterte thanked Davao Occidental Governor Claude Bautista and his son Mayor Carl Jason Rama who is running for a gubernatorial seat in the province.

Rama assured their full support to Marcos and Duterte, adding that the two can lead and unite the country.

During the Davao del Sur sortie, Marcos and Duterte vowed to continue the peace efforts, the “Build, Build, Build” program, and the war on drug campaign of the current administration. (PNA)
