Couple falls in P1.15-M shabu buy-bust in NegOcc

BACOLOD CITY – Police seized PHP1.156 million worth of suspected shabu from a couple during a buy-bust in Kabankalan City in Negros Occidental on Wednesday.

In a report on Thursday, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office identified the suspects as Jomy Consular, 42; and his wife Leosella, 27, of Sitio Linag-asan, Barangay Hilamonan.

At 3:30 p.m., a poseur-buyer negotiated with the suspects in Purok Santan, Barangay Camugao, leading to their arrest.

Operatives recovered from the couple a knot-tied plastic sachet of shabu and 24 plastic sachets containing the prohibited substance.

Pegged at PHP6,800 per gram, the 170 grams of confiscated shabu were valued at PHP1.156 million.

Among the seized items were two mobile phones and a Kawasaki tricycle.

The couple, detained at the Kabankalan Component City Police Station, will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
