LEGAZPI CITY – At least 8,395 students in the Bicol Region will be receiving educational assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development during the payout schedule on Saturday.

Marygizelle Mesa, DSWD-5 information officer, said in an interview said Saturday’s payout is expected to be more systematic and organized.

"Only those beneficiaries who received a text message from our office (DSWD) and some who were contacted by their local government unit with the advice of DSWD will be entertained and received their cash aid. Also, in the upcoming distribution, each province has designated payout venues where beneficiaries could claim the cash grant," Mesa said.

In Camarines Norte province, beneficiaries from the towns of Mercedes and Labo will have SM City Daet as the venue.

For Catanduanes province, learners from Gigmoto, Baras and Bato towns need to go to the Gigmoto Central Elementary School District II, Baras municipal compound, Balay Silangan Poblacion, respectively.

While in Masbate, Ticao Island (Batuan, San Fernando, San Jacinto, and Monreal towns) the venue will be in San Jacinto covered court.

Mesa said the learners who would receive their cash grants are the applicants that lined up, sent an email to their office and filled out the link or QR code.

"For those with the appointment, please don't forget to bring valid identification cards (two photocopies, back-to-back) and school ID or certificate of enrolment or any documents that will certify that you are enrolled for this school year. If you are the authorized representative, the valid ID (2 photocopies, back-to-back), school ID or certificate of enrolment, and the authorization letter signed by the beneficiaries if in legal age, minor no need for a signature," she said.

The DSWD Bicol also reminded the learner-beneficiaries to arrive at the specified time and place of payout, and bring the original copies of documents, ballpen, water and food. (PNA)
