KIDAPAWAN CITY, North Cotabato – Games for this year’s Soccsksargen Regional Athletic Association (SRAA) Sports Meet rolled out here Tuesday with 5,000 athletes and coaches.
Venues of the 27 sports events are scattered in different venues, including subdivision and village covered courts, public schools, city gymnasium, and private swimming resorts.
Delegates will be sheltered in at least 13 billeting quarters.
“Our facilities are ready to serve all delegates for their billeting, as our security sector is also on tight monitoring to guarantee the safety and success of this event,” Mayor Jose Paolo Evangelista said in an interview.
The mayor said the various delegations consisted of teams from eight Department of Education schools' divisions in the region from Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, South Cotabato, and North Cotabato, and the cities of Gen. Santos, Tacurong, Koronadal, and Kidapawan.
Digital attendance system
Meanwhile, the local government designed a Digital Attendance System through a quick response (QR) code to monitor delegates and to serve as a tracker for coronavirus disease infections.
The generated QR code will serve as the attendance generator for any of the 27 sports venues in the city. (PNA)
