MANILA – The Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) is set to launch a voter’s education module as part of its mandate to guide the people to vote wisely during elections.

PPCRV national coordinator Dr. Arwin Serrano said the purpose of launching the module early next month is to inform everyone, especially their volunteers, of the ongoing steps taken by the election watchdog of the Church in the country's electoral exercises.

"We just want to inform our volunteers that we are doing something, we will come up with the voter's education module…," he said in an interview over Church-run Radio Veritas Monday.

Serrano said the purpose of the module is to be able to share knowledge on the appropriate and wise participation of everyone in the election not only in the upcoming barangay elections but also in the 2025 midterm elections and 2028 National and Local Elections.

The PPCRV is scheduled to launch the module on Aug. 5 at the Pope Pius the 12th Catholic Center in Manila.

Volunteers from different areas of the country are expected to attend the event.

Serrano noted that after the scheduled launch, they will hold a series of training sessions in September.

He added that the purpose of the training is to enable volunteers to disseminate the knowledge and skills that each one should have in monitoring the election process in the country.

"There are six modules that will be presented, we will set up training in September," he said.

The PPCRV official also noted that the reason for coming up with the voter's education module is to serve as a guide in shaping young people who are patriotic and aware of the importance of democracy and elections in the country. (PNA)
