MANILA – Tropical Depression Ineng has left the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), but the enhanced southwest monsoon or "habagat" will continue to dampen parts of Luzon for the next three days, the weather bureau said Wednesday.

Ineng and Tropical Storm Haikui (also known as Hanna) have been enhancing the "habagat", which will cause occasional rains over the western portions of Northern and Central Luzon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

The trough of Ineng will bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Batanes, Abra, Apayao, Cagayan and Isabela. Flooding or landslides are possible due to moderate with at times heavy rains.

Gusty conditions due to enhanced "habagat" will also continue to prevail in Batanes, Ilocos provinces, the western portion of Pangasinan, Zambales and Bataan.

Occasional rains due to the southwest monsoon will prevail over Ilocos Region, Zambales and Bataan.

It will also cause scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, the rest of Central Luzon and the rest of the Cordillera Administrative Region.

The rest of the country will continue to experience isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

The "habagat" will also cause rough to very rough seas over the northern and western seaboard of Northern Luzon and the western seaboard of Central Luzon.

PAGASA advised fishing boats and other small seacraft not to venture into the sea and larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves. (PNA)
