MANILA – AP Bren made history early Monday after beating Onic Indonesia, 4-3, to win the M5 World Championship at the jam packed Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

AP Bren survived a collapse despite a 3-1 lead to open the best-of-seven tie and became the first club to win Mobile Legends Bang Bang's (MLBB) grand prize multiple times.

The Filipino side also became the first team to rule the tournament on their home floor.

It was a game of tempo as AP Bren banked on their quick setups to go 3-1 up against Onic ID, winning Games 1, 3, and 4.

However, Onic ID, bolstered by Filipino jungler Kairi Rayosdelsol, took the next two games to send the match to sudden death.

In the decider, though, AP Bren made quick work of Onic ID to finally win the title.

It was sweet revenge for AP Bren as they lost to Onic ID in the upper bracket finals on Saturday.

AP Bren booked a rematch against Onic ID after blanking fellow Filipino outfit Blacklist International in the lower bracket finals.

David Canon was named Finals Most Valuable Player.

A must-watch

The grand finals between AP Bren and Onic ID became the most-watched MLBB showdown ever in live streams.

By Game 5, the series was already watched by over 4.6 million fans, already breaking the 4.2 million views during the Grand Finals of M4 earlier this year.

By the end of the stream, 5,067,208 fans watching the match were tallied, more than double the fans who watched AP Bren and Onic ID's first meeting during the upper bracket finals. (PNA)
