MANILA – The third edition of the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) Champions League will kick off on Feb. 4 at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

PNVF president Ramon “Tats” Suzara said pro teams Cignal HD, Chery Tiggo and PetroGazz as well as Philippine Army will lead the participants in the women's division.

Also competing is College of Saint Benilde, which won the title in November when the annual tournament was momentarily renamed Challenge Cup.

The competition in the men's division will start on Feb. 11 with Cignal HD eyeing to regain the title it lost to University of Santo Tomas.

Joining Cignal HD in Pool A are top men’s club squads PGJC Philippine Navy, Savouge Spin Doctors and College of Saint Benilde, while in Pool B are VNS Asereht Griffins, Iloilo D’Navigators, Philippine Air Force and Philippine Army.

“The PNVF is starting 2024 in earnest with the Champions League as we kick off another busy volleyball schedule,” Suzara said in a statement on Monday.

Suzara also announced that the Philippines will host again the Volleyball Nations League in June and the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour in December.

Team Dasma Monarchs won the men's title in the inaugural staging of the Champions League in 2021 while Cignal HD claimed the crown the following year.

In the women's division, F2 Logistics bagged the championship in 2021 while California Precision Sports-Antipolo City claimed the title in 2022. (PNA)
