4 wanted persons nabbed in one-day police ops

MANILA – The No. 3 Most Wanted Person (MWP) listed by the Galas Police Station in Quezon City was arrested in Abra province while three other individuals wanted for various crimes were nabbed in law enforcement operations conducted in different parts of the country on Saturday. 

In a statement on Sunday, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director, Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan, identified the arrested wanted person in Abra as Cleopas Fuentes, 59, a resident of Barangay Bugbug, Bucay town, who was nabbed in his home.

He is accused of violating Republic Act 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act, with arrest warrant issued by Hon. Fernando Sagun Jr., presiding judge of Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 78 in Quezon City.

Maranan commended the team of lawmen for locating and arresting the suspect. “With that, congratulations, continue doing your best," he said. 

Meanwhile, Police Regional Office 4B (Mimaropa) director, Brig. Gen. Roger Quesada, said alias “Rex”, 43, ranked as Romblon province’s most wanted person, was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by the RTC Branch 82 in Odiongan, Romblon for three counts of rape in Barangay Binuntucan, Pontevedra town, Capiz province.

On the other hand, alias “Reowell”, 24, listed as the second MWP in Taytay town, Palawan province, was apprehended for the crime of rape in Sitio Igang, Barangay Poblacion, Taytay. 

Quesada also said alias “Elbert”, 39, was apprehended for the non-bailable crime of parricide, in Barangay Ilag, San Teodoro town, Oriental Mindoro province.

The arrested persons are now under police custody and will be turned over to the respective courts for proper disposition. (PNA)
