MANILA – The Diocese of Boac in Marinduque province on Tuesday called on the faithful to pray for the immediate recovery of its four priests that are confined in different hospitals.

In Circular Letter No. 1-2024, Bishop Marcelino Maralit urged the public to join the community in praying for the healing of the Catholic priests.

"We believe that the power of prayers, especially of all the Christian communities in our diocese, will not only guide their attending doctors, protect and secure our patients, but even more hasten their recovery and even effect miraculous healing, if it is God's will," he said.

"Thus, I would like to encourage everyone to please pray fervently for our sick priests," the Catholic prelate added.

The Boac diocese has also released a community prayer for the purpose.

"The community prayer will commence in all our Sunday Masses, including the anticipated Masses, and will continue everyday before the celebration of the Mass until they are all well," Maralit said.

Four priests from the diocese are currently confined in different hospitals due to "serious health conditions".

The diocese said three of the priests are at Mt. Carmel Diocesan General Hospital in Lucena City, while the other one is at the Cardinal Santos Medical Center in San Juan City. (PNA)
