NU rolls to 3rd straight win in PNVF U18

MANILA – National University (NU) defeated La Salle-Lipa, 25-21, 25-16, to take the lead in Group B of the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) Under-18 Championship girls division at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum in Manila on Friday.

It was the third straight win for NU, which also conquered Parañaque City, 25-4, 25-16, and Colegio de Los Baños, 25-10, 25-12.

La Salle-Lipa slid to second place at 2-1. University of Santo Tomas also took the top spot in Group A after beating Limitless Sports Center, 25-9, 25-8. UST's other win was over the Kings’ Montessori School (KMS), 25-16, 25-23, in the opener.

KMS improved to 2-1 after posting victories over Grace Christian College, 25-20, 25-11, and Limitless Sports Center, 25-10, 25-9.

Saturday's games pit UST against La Salle-Zobel (10 a.m.), La Salle-Lipa against Parañaque City (11:30 a.m.) and San Juan Institute of Technology-Batangas against Colegio de Los Baños (12 noon) in the girls division.

Playing in the boys division are Pool B leader Umingan, Pangasinan against La VNS (5:30 p.m.), Batangas Christian School against La Salle-Lipa (2:30 p.m.) and Angatleta Sports Bataan against Golden Whiskers Club (4 p.m.). (PNA)
