NOVELETA, Cavite-- After distributing 10,000 packs of school supplies to public elementary schools here during the opening of classes two weeks ago, the local government unit has started its support to public day care centers with the turn-over of some 1,200 packs of school supplies on Tuesday.
Noveleta mayor Dino Reyes Chua led the team of “Unlad Noveleta” or “Noveleta for development” and local officials in distributing the school supplies to some 16 public day care centers.
Chua said the assistance aims to help parents of the pre-schoolers cope with school supplies expenses and save on added costs for their family’s basic needs.
He also turned over a Koppel Super Inverter split-type air-conditioning unit for a day care center to make school life for the toddlers comfortable and conducive to learning.
The local executive also led the re-branding of the Ambrocio Robles Elementary School in Barangay San Jose as model public school of the locality, by installing 12 air-conditioned units in all Kindergarten to Grade 6 classrooms. A LED TV inside each classroom plus WiFi ready and CCTV cameras were also installed in the area.
"Nakakatuwang makita na masaya ang mga bata at mga magulang dahil ang dating pinaka-kawawang school ay siyang model school na ngayon hindi lang sa Noveleta kundi sa buong lalawigan ng Cavite (It is pleasing to see the joy among school children and their parents because what used to be the most pathetic school has been transformed into a model school now, not only in Noveleta but also in the entire Cavite province)," Chua said.
Jinky Sidocon, Noveleta Social Welfare and Development head, also expressed appreciation to the mayor’s initiatives in upgrading the day care centers and the turn-over of school supplies for the toddlers.
Meanwhile, Noveleta Elementary School principal Marieta Eseque thanked Chua for looking after the needs of the school children with the installation of the airconditioning units and modern educational facilities.
"Napakaganda po ng suportang ibinibigay ng ating alkalde sa education ng ating bayan (It is good to note the support of our mayor to improve education in our town)," Eseque said. (Dennis Abrina/PNA)
