SGLG national evaluators visit Antique capitol, 4 towns

SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, Antique -- National evaluators of the Department of the Interior and Local Government have visited Antique’s provincial capitol and four other municipalities for the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) evaluation.
Anna Carolina D. Jardiolin, Local Government Operations Officer, said in an interview on Friday that evaluators Local Government Operations Officers Myra Michelle M. Colbe and Reanne Mae P. Maranan who came from DILG 4-B (Mimaropa) evaluated the municipal governments of Culasi, Barbaza, Bugasong, San Jose de Buenavista and the provincial government.
“Since Aug. 10 until today, the evaluators are here to visit the different towns and the capitol vying of the SGLG,” Jardiolin said.
She said evaluators are looking at specific indicators for the SGLG, which are financial administration, disaster preparedness, social protection, peace and order, business friendliness and competitiveness, environmental management, tourism, and culture and the arts.
“On several meetings, we have already guided these local government units on what they should prepare for the SGLG evaluation,” Jardiolin said.
She said Antique Governor Rhodora J. Cadiao, who is serving her first term of office as elected governor, is really striving for the province to pass the SGLG evaluation so that it could avail of more projects funded by the national government. (PNA)
