DUMAGUETE CITY – Philippine National Police (PNP) operatives in Negros Oriental have arrested suspected drug pushers during an anti-illegal drugs operation on Friday morning in Tanjay City.
A police report from Superintendent Kat Ramos of the Negros Oriental PNP Provincial Office (NOPPO) identified the suspects as Marlo Escanyer Cacho, 22 years old, single, currently residing at Barangay 3, and Ailene Carale Villaflores, 22, single, a resident of Barnagay Azagra, both in Tanjay City.
The two were arrested after Tanjay City Police personnel and operatives of the provincial office of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), conducted a buy-bust operation around 1 a.m. Friday in Barangay 4 of the said city.
Recovered from the suspects were one piece transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu granules, suspected drug sale cash proceeds amounting to PHP500, a marked PHP500 bill used in the buy-bust, and one unit Yamaha MIO motorcycle.
The suspects were brought to the Tanjay City Police Station for proper disposition while criminal charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act as amended were being prepared to be filed against them. (PNA)
