MANILA -- The Construction Industry Authority of the Philippines (CIAP), an attached agency of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), has certified 40 supervisors and superintendents in its pilot training program.

Through CIAP’s human resource development arm Construction Manpower Development Foundation (CMDF), the government conducted the Construction Supervisory Training and Certification Program (CSTCP) from February to June this year.

In a statement Thursday, CIAP said the CTSCP supports the “Build Build Build” Program of the administration by providing the construction sector with competent manpower.

The CSTCP upgrades the competencies of project supervisors and superintendents, who fill management functions in planning, organizing, implementing and control aspects of construction activities. According to CIAP, the CMDF will continue to partner with industry experts for this program to continue improving the quality of available workers in the construction sector.

The government earlier mentioned that the “Build Build Build” Program needs thousands of workers for the infrastructure projects of the government. Most of the vacancies are on-site construction jobs.

The “Build Build Build” Program listed nearly 5,000 projects across the country until 2022. As of last month, 75 were flagship projects of the Duterte administration, and 32 of these are targeted for completion by 2022. (PNA)
