Quezon to open biggest day-care center in October

LUCENA CITY, Quezon – The biggest day-care center in Quezon province is set to open at the municipal town of Unisan come October to strengthen its children’s education system.

ALONA Partylist Representative and KALIPI Chair Anna V. Suarez announced this to some 8,000 members of KALIPI during the Quezon Provincial Women’s Convention themed ‘Kababaihang Quezonian, Matatag sa Hamon ng Buhay’ (Women of Quezon, Resilient to Life’s Challenges).

The women’s convention forms part of the annual ‘Niyugyugan’ Festival which ran from Aug. 9 to 20 this year.

Suarez said the partylist has been part of the other day care centers established in various locations in the province, which provide for the needed materials, equipment to promote fast learning among students.

Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos was the guest-of-honor and speaker of the occasion held at Quezon Convention Center on Aug. 17.

In her message, Marcos said that women were known to be reliable, dependable, strong and resilient to all challenges of life.

She hailed the women for the changes seen in this new administration, and promised to support the women’s group in all its endeavors.

“Makakasigurado kayo na ako ay nasa likod ng KALIPI at ng Quezon (Be assured that I am behind you KALIPI, Quezon),” Marcos said.

Provincial Governor David C. Suarez and House Minority Floor Leader Cong. Danilo Suarez also graced the event.

The governor led in recognizing the local Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS) of each municipality for their role in giving importance not only to women, but in promoting gender consciousness in governance.

“Gender consciousness is very important for us to understand dahil ito ang nagpapatunay kung pano natin pinapahalagahan ang buhay ng ating mga kababayan (This will prove how we value the lives of our countrymen),” Gov. Suarez said. (Gideon Belen/PNA)
