SULTAN KUDARAT, Maguindanao -- Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go has called on residents of this town and the rest of Maguindanao to report erring government workers to them and they will "do the rest."

“Isumbong niyo kay Kuya Bong Go at ako na ang personal na magsasabi kay Presidente Rodrigo Duterte (Forward your complaints to me and I will relay it personally to President Rodrigo Duterte),” Go told a delighted huge crowd gathered at the town gymnasium here Monday.

Go was here as special guest to the culmination activities of the town’s 71st foundation anniversary. Earlier on the same day, he also visited the town of Datu Abdullah Sangki that was celebrating its 14th  foundation anniversary and 4th Kagalawan Festival at the same time.

“Malapit kayo sa puso ni Presidente at ako naman ay may malaking paghanga sa inyo (You are close to the heart of the President and I have a big admiration for you),” he added.

Go said that President Duterte remains firm to his three-point campaign promise to the people – that is to eradicate illegal drugs, corruption, and criminality.

This developed as the official downplayed requests from both local officials and residents here to run as senator in the 2019 midterm elections.

“Still the same po. Di pa po ako interesado (Still the same. I am still not interested),” Go said adding that only the President can make him change his current decision someday.

Go said he remains happy with his job, especially in helping other people “and that is enough for now.”

“Maraming salamat po sa aking mga kapaitid na Muslim at Kristiyano (Thank you to my Muslim and Christian brethren) all encouraging me to run. Nakakataba po ng puso kaya lalo po akong magsisipag sa trabaho (I am flattered and I that is why I will attend to my job more tirelessly),” he said.

Both Sultan Kudarat Mayor Shameem Mastura and Cotabato City Mayor Frances Cynthia Guiani-Sayadi assured Go that they would fully support him if ever he decides to run in next year’s elections.

Go topped a recent survey conducted by the University of Mindanao Institute of Popular Opinion at 76 percent. Others included on the list were Bureau of Corrections Director General Ronald dela Rosa, Senators Grace Poe, Sonny Angara, Aquilino Pimentel lll, and Taguig Representative Pia Cayetano. (PNA)
