BACOLOD CITY -- Two Senior High School buildings with 40 classrooms were unveiled at the Bacolod City National High School (BCNHS) in rites led by city officials here Thursday.

The two buildings are part of the four school buildings constructed in the BCNHS campus with a total project cost of PHP131 million funded by the national government.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia, who led the inauguration ceremony, said the project was conceptualized and the funding was approved when he was still a congressman from 2013 to 2016.

Rep. Greg Gasataya, his successor, followed up the completion of the school buildings, he added.

“This shows that if the city officials work together, many projects will be completed for Bacolod,” the mayor said.

Leonardia was joined by Gasataya and some city councilors during the program.

Including the first two buildings already being used by Senior High students, the BCNHS has four new school buildings with a total of 80 classrooms.

Last June, Leonardia also led the unveiling of six school buildings with a total of 96 classrooms constructed in the campuses of the Domingo Lacson National High School and Sum-ag National High School.

At the Domingo Lacson NHS, the new facilities include two three-storey school buildings, with 15 classrooms each; and one four-storey school building with 20 classrooms. All 50 classrooms amount to PHP97 million.

The Sum-ag NHS has two four-storey school buildings, and one two-storey school building. The 46 classrooms are worth PHP66 million. (PNA)
