Koronadal City envi enforcer nabbed in drug bust

GENERAL SANTOS CITY -- Anti-drug operatives arrested a job order employee of the Koronadal City government in a buy-bust operation Wednesday evening.

Naravy Duquiatan, acting head of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 12 (Soccsksargen), identified the suspect as Floyd Borjel Rodriguez, 42, a resident of Upper Lopez Jaena St., Barangay Zone 4 in Koronadal City.

Duquiatan said the suspect was nabbed near his home at about 8:20 p.m. after selling a sachet of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu” worth PHHP500 to one of their agents, who posed as a buyer.

In a subsequent search, she said Rodriguez yielded another sachet of suspected shabu valued at PHP6,800, an improvised lighter, improvised bamboo sealer, an improvised tooter, and aluminum foil strips.

Duquiatan said the suspect was employed since January as an enforcer at the City Environment and Natural Resources Office of Koronadal City.
She said Rodriguez was a known drug pusher in the area and included on the city police and PDEA-12's target list.

"He mainly operates in Koronadal City and some barangays of nearby municipalities," the official said.

Duquiatan said they are looking into the possible involvement of the suspect, who is now detained at the PDEA-12 lockup here, in local drug networks and other illegal activities.

Rodriguez will be charged with selling and possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. (PNA)
