CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga -- The City of San Fernando was named "most outstanding local government unit" in Pampanga by the provincial offices of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
This developed after the Pampanga External Monitoring Team, created by DTI and DILG, held its first ever provincial recognition of outstanding local government units (LGUs) in the province.
The City of San Fernando ranked first in all four award categories -- Most Outstanding LGU Implementing the Streamlining Program in the Issuance of Mayor’s Permit, Most Outstanding LGU for IT Innovations, Best LGU in Customer Relations, and Most Successful LGU in the Institutionalization of Business Permit Licensing System Reforms.
The monitoring team said the recognition encourages the province’s LGUs to improve their business processes and realize their advocacy for a business and investment-enabling environment.
Mayor Edwin Santiago, meanwhile, said that Fernandinos are naturally accommodating and officials and employees apply this positive trait in their workplace.
“Likas na matulungin ang mga Fernandino kaya nadadala nila ito sa kanilang mga trabaho at sa pakikisalamuha sa mga tao. Kung magtutulungan ang bawat isa, magiging mabilis at episyente ang bawat transaksyon sa syudad (The Fernandinos are naturally helpful that they bring it to their jobs and in dealing with people. If everyone works together, every transaction in the city will be fast and efficient)," Santiago said.
The awards were officially presented Wednesday to the LGU of San Fernando. (PNA)
