MANILA -- A much bigger increase in pump prices await motorists effective 6 a.m., September 4, Tuesday.
In separate announcements, local oil firms announced the same increase of PHP1.20 per liter for diesel, PHP0.95 per liter for unleaded gasoline, and PHP0.95 per liter for kerosene.
These price adjustments will be much more significant than the increases implemented last week. It may be recalled that last August 28, liquid fuel prices only went up by PHP0.10 per liter for gasoline, PHP0.60 per liter for diesel, and PHP0.45 per liter for kerosene.
Oil executives simply attribute the imminent price hikes to movements in the international petroleum market which are being passed on to the Filipino consumer. (PNA)
