MANILA -- The Nazareth School of the National University (NSNU) grasped the University Athletic Association of the Philippines' juniors basketball title, completing a sweep of Ateneo in the finals with a 64-53 win in Game 2 of the best-of-three series at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan City on Friday.

The Bullpups stifled the Blue Eaglets in the final quarter, limiting them to just eight points to reclaim the championship they last held in 2016.

Terrence Fortea, despite making only 3-of-19 field goals, led NSNU with 15 points, two rebounds, and four assists.

Carl Tamayo (13 points, 10 rebounds) and Cyril Gonzales (10 points, 10 rebounds) each added double-doubles for the school, which won for the first time under current coach Goldwyn Monteverde.

Kai Sotto's 26-point, 25-rebound, one-assist, and four-block showing went down the drain as Ateneo was dethroned in the most painful of ways.
