Blackwater edges Columbian in return to action

MANILA -- Blackwater scored a much-needed win in the PBA Philippine Cup, defeating Columbian Dyip, 106-100, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay on Friday night.

Following a long break, the Elite broke out of a 78-all tie with a 7-0 run for an 85-78 lead with 9:11 left in the game, and took control of the Dyip multiple times later in the final frame en route to the win.

Allein Maliksi scored 29 points, six rebounds, five assists, and one block for Blackwater, which won for the second time against six losses.

Mac Belo added 22 points, nine rebounds, two assists, and one steal, while Paul Desiderio made 12 markers, seven rebounds, and two assists, both coming off the bench.

CJ Perez made 22 points, eight rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block for Columbian, which dropped to 3-5. (PNA)
