TNT downs Columbian to reclaim top spot

MANILA — TNT moved back to solo first place in the PBA Commissioner's Cup after tripping Columbian, 109-102, at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay on Friday night.

The KaTropa slowly but surely took control of the game in the final three quarters, eventually pulling away in the fourth frame after building a 14-point cushion with 4:51 left.

Terrence Jones dropped 39 points, making 20 of 24 free throws, 17 rebounds, six assists, seven blocks, and one steal for TNT, which is now at 7-1.

Jayson Castro added 22 points, five rebounds, six assists, and two steals off the bench, while RR Pogoy, adjudged the Player of the Week by the PBA Press Corps for the previous week, chipped in 16 points, six rebounds, three assists, and four steals.

Lester Prosper drilled in 37 markers, 20 boards, one dime, and one block, while CJ Perez contributed 22 points, nine caroms, seven dimes, two steals, and one block for Columbian, which further fell to 1-5. (PNA)
